Sustainable & Circular Practices
We are committed to using only organic, recycled or sustainably managed plant-based fibres.
These fabrics are only sourced from from suppliers with a transparent supply chain, helping to further minimise our carbon footprint and environmental impact.
We also employ circular design practices that help minimise waste and focus on small-run, high quality production as part of what we see as our responsibility to the planet.
Part of this responsibility includes being open and transparent in what we make, and how we make it. In doing so, we hold ourselves accountable for our own actions.
We aren’t perfect, but we are trying to improve each day. While our fabric is fully traceable and we have full transparency with our production team, there is still work to do with our trims.
Local, Ethical Production
The Glade is an investment in quality over quantity. These are core, key pieces designed to work with your body, not against it.
We produce in limited quantities to reduce waste and maintain our quality craftsmanship.
Every piece is sewn by our exceptional makers here in Sydney, Australia and our price reflects this artisanal quality and local, ethical supply chain.
Themwear: All bodies & all genders
While we mention menswear a lot, The Glade exists for all body & gender expressions.
As a queer-owned business we champion the power and safety of inclusive design. Something as small as a men’s skirt can open up a whole new world for people and we mean it when we say there is a seat for you at our table.
While we are currently constrained by certain prohibitive costs and overheads, the more we grow the more we can streamline our model, and the more affordable and accessible we will become.
