About Us

Our Story

Welcome to The Glade.
There's a seat for you at our table, everyone is welcome.

Our journey began trying to find well made, quality menswear that was both beautiful, and sustainable. Proving harder than originally thought...we decided to design our own.

We create garments that stand the test of time. Our commitment to quality and sustainability drives everything we do, from the fabrics we select to the partners we work with.

The Glade is a love letter to finding calm amongst chaos. Every piece is designed with ease of wear in mind: focusing on the perfect fit, a luxurious feel & 100% natural, sustainable fabrics.

Our Promise

We are steadfast in our mission to protect the planet and only manufacture locally, ethically, and sustainably.

Every piece is traceable throughout the supply chain and is made within a 5km radius of our design studio in Surry Hills, Sydney.

We ensure minimal wastage by producing garments in small batches, only restocking if there is sufficient demand. This approach not only reduces waste but also ensures that each design is carefully crafted and cherished.

Our Commitments

Sustainable & Circular Practices

We only use organic, recycled or sustainably managed plant-based fibres, such as 100% Recycled Cotton & Eucalyptus (Tencel).

These fabrics are sourced only from trusted suppliers. From fibre to fabric, our suppliers have fully transparent supply chains, helping to further minimise our carbon footprint and environmental impact.

We also employ circular design practices, focusing on small-run, high quality production as part of our responsibility to the planet.

Part of this responsibility includes being open and transparent in what we make, and how we make it. In doing so, we hold ourselves accountable for our own actions.

We aren’t perfect, but we are trying to improve each day. While our fabric is fully traceable and we have full transparency with our production team, there is still work to do with our trims.

Local, Ethical Production

We say The Glade is an investment in quality over quantity. Our collection is designed to work with your body, not against it.

To maintain our quality craftsmanship & reduce wastage, we produce in limited quantities. Every piece is sewn by our exceptional makers here in Sydney, Australia and in supporting us, you are supporting artisanal quality and a local, ethical supply chain.

Themwear: All bodies & all genders

While we mention menswear a lot, The Glade really exists for all body & gender expressions.

As a queer-owned business we champion the power and safety of inclusive design. Something as small as a men’s skirt can open up a whole new world for people and we mean it when we say there is a seat for you at our table.

As we only launched in 2023, we are constrained by certain prohibitive costs and overheads, but the more we grow, the more we can streamline our model, and the more affordable and accessible we will become.

We are working towards a made-to-order service where the uniqueness of each body can be calibrated and celebrated.
